Trondheim night in winter

Still it is snowing a lot in Trondheim. I have been to the down town for a photo excursion and here is one shot taken from Bakke Bru where the view is towards Gamle ByBru. Long shot with three exposure bracketing.

Blue infinity

I have revisited one of my photos that I took it in April 2010 by Côte D'Azure in Nice, France. This photo is very special to me, it received big attention that time which made me more enthusiast in pursuing photography with care and style. This is a minimalistic work and is taken with my good old Nikon D80. It is a long exposure shot, 85 seconds, after the sunset.

Those two are amazed

As I wrote before, here comes another northern lights photo. Those two, the tree and the man, are amazed by the show. The brightest part of the aurora was moving from left to right. The show is amazing.

Sky show

It was a fantastic night with clear sky, no moon, and full of stars. I went out with my friend, +Aziz Nasuti , to a very dark place to take photos of stars. We were lucky enough that northern lights spiced the night even more with its gorgeous colours and movement.
Here is a photo of that night. Probably I will post more photos from that night.
Have a good time.

River Harp video

I have already published a post titled "River Harp" where a part of a big metallic sphere is visible (related post). Here is a video featuring that sphere, namely the "River Harp", so you can hear its sound.

Being more precise, there are two such spheres, one on each river's bank. This is in Drammen city, Norway. The sound that these spheres produce are made of harmonies that are sung by a local choir. The sound generation is dependent on the surrounding condition all collected by a nearby bridge and send to the spheres. The bridge is called Ypsilon where surrounding condition such as the river current, pedestrians walking over the bridge, wind, cars passing nearby, etc., induce some vibrations on the bridge. Then the vibration is somehow transferred to the spheres and they are translated to sound harmonies. Neat!

Here is a photo where you can see the Ypsilon bridge and one of the River Harps (look for a shiny metallic sphere about the middle of the photo).

And here is the video:

p.s. This reference helped me to better understand River Harps: reference.

Light in the mist

Compositing is a very interesting art subject where the art work can convey a strong message, make  the viewer curious about something, and or induce other feelings.
I tried to make a composite from three photos that I took from almost a same scene at different moments during the autumn. I hope the viewer get the feeling that I intended to induce, the title should be clear about it, although the interpretations would be different from a person to another.

River Harp

The curved scene is on the body of a huge metal sphere that is kind of a speaker and plays sound according to the changes in its surrounding (vibrations, wind, river, ...). It is aslo called River Harp. You may find more details here. This is located in Drammen, Norway.

Node.js for QNX, source code

Here is a post which is different from the main stream of this blog ☺.

A while ago I was searching for a source code of Node.js for QNX and I found this interview where Allan H. mentions that such a source code exists. But I could not find the code anywhere on the Internet. I posted a comment under the interview and asked for help. Also I sent Allan a message on a social network requesting more information and help. Allan contacted me supportively and kindly provided me the code, which he has my gratitude.

After my comment on the interview I receive notifications and messages that shows more people are interested in having the code. And that is the reason for having this post to share the code with those of you who are interested.

You can download the file here: Node.js for QNX
You build it by running:

Unfortunately I had no time until now to touch this code and I have not built it. It is probable that you get some problems. Allan said that it is built successfully against QNX 6.6.0 and 6.5.0.

It would be great if anyone who download this code write a comment below this post and tell a little about their application and whether they have successeed to build the source code or not, or what changes they have applied to make it work. I think your comments would be a great help to the Node JS for QNX society. Thanks! ☺

Looking for a way

I have a great interest in black and white photos and I am trying to improve my skills in it.
Here is a landscape in black and white. I used Photoshop to process this photo.

In the cave of a white rose

It was time to do some artistic work :)
I took a macro shot of a white rose and processed it such that it looks like inside a cave.

َProcessing photos is so time consuming or I am too slow!
Here is a photo of a pretty dog posing nicely against the sun. I have processed it with Adobe RAW and Photoshop. She had a leash connected to her jacket which I removed it in Photoshop using stamp tool.
